Another positive

Today Massimo Giunti (Androni-Diquigiovanni) won't take part at Tirreno-Adriatico as he has been found positive for Epo in a control done few days ago.
I ever heard that some pro still use Epo during their training ride for recover quicker but the edge between being caught or not is getting thinner.

Gran Fondo San Diego

Last sunday it took part the 2nd edition of Granfondo Colnago San Diego, and the main guest was probably the ex World Champion Paolo Bettini.
The bike he rodes was built by Pista Palace and it deserve a closer look.

Quiz time: who's the guy?
Monday, March 8, 2010

No, it's not me.
The picture was taken in Abruzzo during an amateur race and the guy is not wearing an helmet and riding a white/red Wilier 101.
Anyway...that's him.

2nd Trofeo Fratelli Girelli - Ciclomania
Sunday, March 7, 2010
Today I've done my second race for 2010, in Verona area, called Trofeo Girelli.
The route was quiet nice with a first short climb, but the weather wasn't as it was very cold (around 5-8°C) and with a very strong wind which made everything much harder than usual.
To make a long story short, after 3-400metres right after the start, 10 guys broke away on the uphill road helped by the wind and we didn't catch them anymore (including the ex Panaria, Allegrini).
I did try some attacks but with not much luck.
At the end a friend of mine joked by saying "the true amateurs were behind" indicating that many guys in the front group are actually ex pro/U23 or anyway train like pro.
